Hotel Industry Veteran Al Calhoun Resumes New Leadership Position with Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels

ATLANTA, June 4, 2010– Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels is pleased to announce that industry veteran Al Calhoun has returned to Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels to resume a senior leadership position as the managing director of the firm’s national select service division.  In his new role, Calhoun will operate from the firm’s Atlanta office and partner with Managing Director Mark Fair to continue to expand the firm’s national client service capabilities in the mid-tier segment of the hotel industry - ranging up to $20 million in asset value.

Calhoun brings more than 25 years of diverse experience in hotel advisory, acquisitions and dispositions to Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels. He originally joined Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels in 2005, when Jones Lang LaSalle acquired the advisory firm he co-founded, ThompsonCalhounFair.  Calhoun remained an integral part of Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels’ management team and helped build a strong client service platform across the nation that delivered institutional quality representation to select service hotel owners. In late 2009, Calhoun departed and Mark Fair assumed oversight of the select service business.  Calhoun has now rejoined the Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels ranks to aggressively increase the firm’s select service market share.

“We’re in a crucial window for growth in our business and we are leveraging the industry cycle to assemble the best players in the industry,” said Arthur Adler, CEO-Americas of Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels. “We recently invested in the expansion of our Southwest capabilities by adding Michael Francis. His expertise, combined with the leadership partnership of Al and Mark, will form an unbeatable team designed to grow our market share and deliver our clients the best platform in the business.”

“The opportunity to come back to Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels just couldn’t be passed up. I’ve long said the people at this firm create a legacy of long-standing client relationships through an integrated culture.  I’m pleased to be back and recommitted to advancing the select service business,” added Calhoun.

“Al is a well respected professional and the way he approaches our business remains a fit for our client service culture.  Our strategic investments to add Michael Francis and re-gain Al will quickly accelerate new opportunities to expand our client relationships in a sector we’re focused on advancing,” said Mark Fair, managing director and head of the firm’s select service division.
